This short safari takes you to both Tarangire and Ngorongoro National Parks. Tarangire is famous for its climbing lions and giant Baobab trees. It’s also a great place to spot giraffe, zebra and wildebeest. Lions are not often found climbing trees and Tarangire as well as Ishasha in Uganda are the only two places in Africa to see this behavior. Continuing from Tarangire after a night of camping we head to the world famous Ngorongoro Crater which is home to over 25,000 large animals including Black Rhinoceros, Cape Buffalos and Hippos.

We offer an affordable and yet comfortable safari experience. We use Toyota Landcruisers for every safari and have a maximum of 5 people in a group to ensure everyone gets a window seat. To keep costs low we make use of secure tented campsites. If you are combining a safari with a Kilimanjaro Climb we will pick you up in Moshi in the morning the day after your climb and can drop you at the end of the safari for an evening flight from Kilimanjaro Airport or back to Moshi or Arusha as per your preference.

Day 1 - Moshi to Tarangire National Park

In the morning we will pick you up from your hotel in Moshi and then it’s a 2 hour drive follows to Tarangire National Park, which is also known as 'the elephant park'. The landscape of the park is made up of seasonal marshes and a seemingly endless tree savanna with its mighty Baobab trees. You will be able to observe the herds of buffalo and wildebeests as they come to drink. After a full morning of wildlife watching you will stop for a midday break and lunch at a picnic spot. Your comprehensive tour will then continue and later in the afternoon you will arrive at Twiga campsite outside the park for your overnight stay for dinner, bed and breakfast.

Day 2 - Ngorongoro Crater to Moshi/Arusha

An early morning drive to the lush upland crater. The goal is the world famous Ngorongoro Crater. Due to its impressive size and the large density of mammals it is often called the eighth wonder of the world. The massive caldera is home to elephants, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, various antelopes and gazelles, hippopotami and hyena. There is also the great chance of spotting leopards, lions and the endangered black rhinoceros. After lunch in the crater and further wildlife watching you will leave the crater and be taken back to Moshi.
